A sad note from our Wentzville Assembly Plant regarding one of our Superintendents and fellow riders.  Dan LeMaster, an avid rider and a member of the  "Motorcycles on the Rock" Christian motorcycle club, passed away only one day after his friends made a final farewell ride to honor Dan at his home. On Saturday morning June 21, 2008 the riders assembled at the QT in Wentzville and made the trek to see Dan at his home.  Dan had taken a turn for the worse on Friday evening and his wife didn't think he was up to the riders visit, but when they arrived Dan was ready and waiting to see them.  He visited with each of them recalling previous rides and memories.  Brother Mark Boeckman spoke with Dan before leaving and Dan acknowledged he was tired and he was ready to go home to the Lord.                                                         Dan passed away on Sunday June 22, 2008.
He will be missed by all his friends.

3rd Annual “SOS” Ride

(Support Our Soldiers)

We held our 3rd Annual “SOS” ride on August 16th and between the ride, the gate drive and the t-shirt sales we were able to raise nearly $13,000 dollars. We distributed, the money we collected, to four pre-selected organizations which were the USO, Task Force USA, Operation Undergarment and our own Dru from body shop, who on her own, sends care packages to our soldiers overseas. This year we did a “poker run” ride which consists of drawing a playing card, from each of the 5 designated stops we made, then paying out the top three winners who had the best poker hand of the day. The weather was beautiful and the riders were many.  The last count on bikes before leaving the hall was right at 193 bikes with many of those bikes having a rider who also participated.

Plans for a 4th ride are already in the works and we invite everyone here to come out next year and help us support our soldiers. If you don’t ride you can still come out and join us in the event.   We may not like the war but we need to show our brothers and sisters in the Armed Forces that we do support them.

Along with those of us who ride, we also have the support of our fellow employee’s and their generous contributions, along with the support of the volunteer work from the Veterans and Chaplaincy Committee as well as our Community Service and Civil Rights Committee who are always willing to help support our “Rides for a Cause”. Our Rides are Open to All, and All Bikes and Riders are Welcome at any of our rides.
